Hi, I’m Martin — proud dad of six, keen cyclist, and the founder of MP Personal Training and The Phoenix Studio here in Hove.
I’ve been working in the fitness industry for over 23 years, helping people of all ages and abilities improve their health, strength, and confidence. But my approach comes from more than just professional experience — it comes from real life.
Like many parents, I’ve faced the challenge of balancing family, work, and self-care. On top of that, I’ve overcome my fair share of physical setbacks:
A partial knee replacement in my late teens
Emergency hernia surgery right in the middle of my early PT career
An ongoing shoulder / back injury from a car accident
These challenges taught me resilience and inspired me to specialise in rehabilitation, injury prevention, and long-term health. I know first-hand how frustrating setbacks can be — but I also know they don’t have to define you. With the right support, barriers can be overcome.
My clients would probably describe me as firm but fair: honest, supportive, and committed to getting results that last. I’m not here to give you quick fixes — I’m here to help you build confidence, strength, and a healthier lifestyle that fits around real life.
